Privacy notice
Alavia is built for people whose identity and interests deserve protection. We collect as little as possible, never ask you to disclose who you are, and never sell data.

Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for this website is Alaz Han Canbolat, founder of Alavia. Contact: [email protected].
Alavia is an independent initiative and is not a registered charity or association.
What we collect
- Visiting the website: our hosting and security providers process technical data such as IP address, browser type and requested pages, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Emailing us: your email address and whatever you choose to write. Please do not include sensitive personal information unless it is necessary.
- Analytics (only with your consent): if you choose “Accept analytics”, we use Google Analytics 4 to count page visits and understand which resources are useful. Google Analytics is loaded through Google Tag Manager, which is itself only loaded after you accept. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga…). We have turned off Google signals, advertising features, ads personalisation, granular location and device data, and data sharing with Google; data is kept for 2 months. We never send identity, wellbeing or free-text answers to analytics. If you choose “Reject”, neither Google Tag Manager nor Google Analytics is loaded. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. Your choice is stored in your browser for up to 6 months.
What we never do
- Ask you to disclose your sexual orientation, gender identity or health to use our resources
- Infer sensitive characteristics from how you use the site
- Sell or share your data for advertising
- Publish anything that could identify you without your explicit, revocable consent
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the site, under their data-processing terms: GoDaddy (website hosting, European data centre), Cloudflare (security and content delivery), Google (email, and analytics only with your consent). Some of these providers may process data outside your country; where required, they rely on recognised safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
Emails are kept only as long as needed to respond and manage our work, and reviewed at least once a year. Server and security logs are kept by our providers for limited periods according to their policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data, to object to processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. To exercise your rights, email [email protected].
Changes
We will update this notice when our services change — for example when we launch tools, research participation or analytics — and show the date of the latest update above.
